PODWARE VERSION UPDATE

PodWare takes another step forward with the announcement of the full release of V5.64.0. Many of the enhancements in the new release simplify the setting up, monitoring and controlling of very large systems. All these features help PodWare and its connected devices to meet the serious and demanding applications involving life-safety Voice Evacuation.

The new Event Logging feature records to a file each significant event in PodWare, in the networks, and in the devices themselves. This log can then be examined in a spreadsheet to confirm that the system has been operating correctly, or to figure out when a particular event happened.

PodWare can now monitor important aspects of each device in the network and (with appropriate firmware in the device), show the states of all the devices in the system using a coloured indicator on each of the Network Tree nodes, so you can see at a glance the health of the entire system. If any of the nodes don’t show the reassuring green glow, then hovering the mouse cursor over the red or yellow Alarm indicator will tell you what the problem is.

You can now view the properties of all the devices in the system in the form of a list. This feature also allows you to update the firmware of many devices at the same time.

There is now support for multiple networks which means that systems can be split in to separate zones. This can make the layout, particularly of large systems more logical. Performance is also increased because each of these network segments runs at the maximum speed possible given the number of connected units.
